Just decided the other day to type some names in google and yours was one. Remember me - I lived in Wash. DC with you all from 1973 to Jan. 1977. I worked at Golden Temple Concious Cookery and had a son, Sat Charan Singh Swanson. Anyway, was glad to see you are doing well and retired. I am very happy and live in the country in North Central Florida. You were and are a very special lady and I always admired you and was a bit jealous of you also, but not anymore.

Thanks for sharing.
Everything was so new back then. Things that were normal in Sikh or Indian culture was bizarre for Americans. Both Yogi Ji and his students must have been very compassionate to deal with each other :-)

my dear dear friend,
You render me speechless. Thank you for sharing your story so beautifully. In doing so you have brought back the memory of my own story of that time and space and my own journey. I know this will happen for all who read this who were there; and for those who were not there, your words can serve as a touch stone for what they may be experiencing and to what they can look forward to as they consciously embark on their soul's journey.
Thank you--love you--
To all the beloved souls who have responded with your kind and heart-felt comments, I bow. I am deeply touched, encouraged and treasure this connection of the heart. Thank you so very much. I look forward to continuing our communication. Hearing from you in such a sincere manner renews and reinforces not only my experience, but the truth that "Sat Nam" and the Grace of Guru Ram Das which was carried to us so mightily by YogiJi, has its own unfolding destiny, of which we are each uniquely blessed to be a part. Love and Blessings upon you, Ganga

Ganga thank you so much for sharing your story. I´m from a new generation, I jus started my yoga practice 3 years ago with Babaji Sing in Mexico City. From the first moment it changed my life. 8 months ago I got married and now I can say I had so many doubts about doing it (he is not into Yoga or spiritual life). I wondered then as i wonder now for how long we can walk through our lifes together having such diferent interest and ways to live. He is now sorrounded by diferent kinds of problems and challenges and living with him is hard. Reading your story has opened my eyes to the fact that this is my path, and he is here right now with me, and I shall not quit out of fear or misunderstanding. I shall learn and grow and keep walking.

At first I thought I willnot say anything since I have nothing to contribute however your 's is not only a true tale but actually history of the onward progress of GURU RAMDASS JI 'S teachings and the ever increasing vista of the message of GURU NANAK. The Almighty has special blessings on Yogiji but an extraordinary gift given to you and others of your generation in particular for they were the harbingers , pioneers of adopting a path wich required covering a distance strewn with mighty questions to be answered, enormous emotional baggage to be discarded,, undergo a mental metamorphsis, overcome numerous mental hurdles , social order that was being overthrown . It was not easy to face such challenges. You are extraordinary because your esteemed self and your generation laid the foudation stone on which the edifice came up which it is today. By the blessings of the Almighty it is still growing . Ironically few understand the GREAT TRANSITION that you all have undergone . It is much easier for thechildren because you are there to pass on the baton

Thanks Ganga...I'm just sitting here smiling...your story is a true tale of how we all (in our own ways) had those incredible experiences with the Master. Hope you are doing well Ganga and thank you so much for sharing this story!

Dear Ganga, You tell this so eloquently and honestly, without blame, judgment or remorse. Straight from the heart. I think it would be hard for anyone who was not "there" at the time to understand how we could take such leaps of faith as we all did. You continue to be an inspiration, as you always were back in those early days. I have some wonderful pictures of you and Pink Krishna when you led a Women's Course in Madison back in the '70s. Remember?
Love & blessings, Sahib-Amar
PS - Sat Nam Singh & Singh Kaur were from Tucson (not Phoenix).

Ganga, I was a little younger than you all, and being of shy (and as Yogi ji said; "insecure") temperment, I rarely made my presence known. "Ganga" "Ganga!" your name seemed to be on everyones lips, even Yogi ji's, all the time. As Guruka says, you tell it so sweet. I relish it every time. Thank you so much.
