I was a college classmate of Ranbir's in 1974 at Mt. San Antonio College. He met my father also... It must have been in his rebellious era...

Wah Guru! I was married at summer solstice '72. What an amazing ride it has been in 3ho! In the fall of '72 I was off with my bride, Jhot Niranjan Kaur to Nebraska to start an ashram for the next 10 years!

My mataji has often mentioned the Mendocino solstice to me. I'm really happy to see the pictures from there. It always seemed like something I couldn't picture, something so magical, that only happened in the times before I was born (when everybody was still a hippie :-)
Of course when I grew up and realized the power of Kundalini yoga, I felt the magic myself.

Hah!

That's me - standing behind behind Baba Singh in the badly tied turban and the red Indian shirt. Now I see why I didn't save any pictures of myself from those days! My biggest memory from that time was travelling to perfomr at the local county fair in Booneville with Guru Singh, Black Krishna, Jean-Paul & the other LA musicians. The locals loved it.

I believe that's Anna Koehne on horseback with the Siri Singh Sahib in one of the photos. I'd love to hear her comments, and also stories. I know she and John were so connected with SSSji.

Sat Nam Siri Ved Kaur,
Thanks for these photos. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law got married at this Solstice also. Their name at the time was Gurudarshan Singh and Gurudarshan Kaur, and I recently saw their photos of their wedding. I think they lived in the Pomona ashram for some time, and they also lived in a hollowed out tree trunk on some land that John and Ana Koehne owned in northern California, who were also for some time students of the Siri Singh Sahib. I will ask them to check out this blog and see if they would like to add more information about this Solstice.

Blessings,
Darshan Kaur
